Finished up my DOD collection (aside from 1 more PRC-6 board) and slowly whittling away at my Ibanez 9 Series. Replaced my AD9 reissue with a vintage one and grabbed this AF9 recently.
Nice! Congratulations for finding such a clean AF9! The options look very similar to these of my two beloved KORG Dist Wah modules KDW-301. And the Meat Box does always look so crazy and cool at the same time.

Thanks. The AF9 had the box and was one of the cheaper ones I had come across that had an intact bottom label and battery cover.
Sadly, I’m going to have to get one more high value pedal to finish out the 9 series board (ST9 or OD9)

Today I received a Japanese Vesta Fire DST Distortion pedal that I purchased for a fair price at ebay. I had no big expectations, but man! This is one of the few pedals that make my guitar
sing! If there were no signal bleed in bypass mode with gain above 02:00 it would be an almost perfect pedal.
Sadly, the front plate for the five knobs has almost no visible labellings anymore, but otherwise it looks pretty good and is very well-built. Pictures will follow, once it is clean and assembled again.
Now here are the promised pictures of the Vesta Fire DST. The knob controls are Distortion and Output and below: Treble, Middle and Bass.

Almost a month later (
![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
) I finally found a few minutes to test the Vesta Fire DST against the MXR Distortion +. There is an enormous overlap in sound! The Vesta Fire pedal is a bit like a Distortion + on steroids, having more gain (with signal bleed in bypass, though!) and that effective 3-band EQ. With treble slightly increased the DST sounds almost the same in lots of the similar gain/volume settings.
So if you are on the hunt for that vintage MXR sound, give the Vesta Fire DST a try. They might be rare, but they are flying under the radar.

Picked up another Hotone Skyline Eko, got this one for the IR2 headphone board.
I like how the EKO sounds, but I like it's super small size even better.

If you ever get the chance, try a Hotone TAPE EKO! It sounds absolutely awesome.

I will! It seems really cool.
I had a search on ebay and reverb for 'Hotone Eko".
Lots of Binary Ekos popped up.
The Tape version
never popped up. I imagine everyone that has one is holding on to them.

I got lucky and found this priced like it was an ST-9 Pro Plus. It will serve as a placeholder until an Ibanez branded one manages to show up for a decent price.

Cool! I would prefer the Maxon, though, since it is the original brand.
