Re: Boss DM-2 pcb variants.
I have admin and moderator rights as well. I have never used the "Move Posts" function, but I think it worked.
Re: Boss DM-2 pcb variants.
Nice, thank you Pepe.
I posted in the photo thread thinking it would be just one post, but it grew and was polluting a bit the photo thread, here the posts are all right.
Please, delete now the posts 7th and 10th, they are in double.
Once again, thank you very much.

Re: Re: Boss DM-2 pcb variants
Hi everyone! I want to build the first version of the Boss DM-2 pedal. I managed to obtain a PCB that was created by someone and is based on the first version with the MN3005 chip. That is exactly what I want to build.
I checked the photos submitted here, and I verified that PCB exactly matches that of the first version. There are 2 little differences though, but I suspect those were made with a reason. The creator of that PCB is unknown, so I cannot ask him about this. But maybe you can suggest why the mod is there.
The essence: the PCB is like the first version, but the D6 diode is also added that was present on the last version of the pedal only. And also connection points 8-10 on the top are connected on this copy PCB with a part named CF. But there is no list of parts available, so I have no idea why it is there. Originally it is not on the first version either. I guess it is some kind of filter. If you have any clue about why these were added I would appreciate if you let me know! Here are the images to show the difference:
The copy PCB with the holes fore the D6 diode from the last version of the DM-2:

The D6 diode is this one from the last version of the DM-2:

The CF added:

You will need to register, but he will solve all your doubts and probably will help you to build the pedal.
Re: Re: Boss DM-2 pcb variants
May I ask a favour from you if you still have these pedals that you showed in the startring post. Could you measure the distances marked by the two red arrows? I am interested in the furthermost outer edges of the traces in both direction. So not the distance between the edge of the boards, but the outer edge of the traces. This is the board of the version which has the MN3005 chip.Old_Iron wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 12:05 amThe creator:The creator of that PCB is unknown, so I cannot ask him about this.

8.4 cm x 5.8 cm.
Re: Boss DM-2 pcb variants
Thanks, almost the same that I measured from the photo, trying to do an approximation.
One last question if you don't mind: around the DC in area, there is also a small PCB. One, that is likely a LED board. Have you ever seen that and can you tell if there is anything else on it apart from the LED?

It holds nothing but the LED and two wires, orange and blue.bencuri wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2026 10:09 pmThanks, almost the same that I measured from the photo, trying to do an approximation.
