New BOSS pedals!
Re: New BOSS pedals!
Father Christmas looked favourably upon me as well in the form of a (snow white - very apt) BP-1w.
Not had much time to play with it yet, due to all the family Christmas stuff going on, but I was immediately drawn to the sound of the RE-201 style preamp.
Will hopefully get more of a chance to try it out before I have to go back to work next week.

Got a few new ones.
This 40th DS-1 was in better condition than the other one I just got and it had the box/manual so I sold the other.

Blimey. You've been on a proper spree recently Zentropa.
Another great haul there!

Nice haul! Is this the AW-2 with the weird working knob? Did a trimpot tweak work so far?
Re: New BOSS pedals!
Thanks. I do a lot of gear trading locally and pedal sampling, so I'm often patrolling the local marketplaces. It often takes me a handful of moves to get what I want, but I'm (usually) patient and if I'm paying cash, I try to get everything at or below the very low end of "going rate" (even if it means waiting until the times of year when there's a normal cycle of prices bottoming out). The SL-2 and BP-1W were gifts.
It is. I have not tried the trimpot yet but I plan to in the next day or two. I think the downside is that I don't have enough of a tonal memory of the AW-2 to know what it is "supposed to" be like, aside from the manual knob not responding "how it should."

sweet! I've been meaning to snag one of these ODB-3 for a while. One popped up "for parts not working", there was a short on one of the jacks and now it works perfect. I dig the roughed up shape too, if you know the sound of this pedal it is quite grungey anyways. I think it sounds great on guitar too

Ha, not bad! I really don't like this one too much, but thanks for saving a pedal! My main problem with the ODB-3 is that the EQ affects the clean sound as well. In clean mode it can serve as a simple two band EQ this way, but I think that it offers limited useful sounds with the always-too-sharp-sounding distortion.

Those are fun and an interesting sound if used with guitar. Mine is in similar shape to that one but was a $25 pawn shop score.chromandre wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:55 pmsweet! My Christmas collection. Mainly Boss but a couple of extras that I’ve had my eye on for a while
