Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
These are some tasty pics, filling me with more than a little GAS
Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
Got a "good deal" on this one, but it was still way more than I wanted to pay for it.
I remember reading about this pedal in the Guitar World 1994 gear buyer's guide and thinking it sounded cool, but when I tried it into the store I thought it was awful as I was a newbie and didn't know how to dial anything well and like 95% of the possible settings on this thing make it sound broken AF. The current version of me was able to dial in some cool and musically usable sounds.
I remember using my Xmas money that year to build a board full of DOD pedals and doing a massive shootout of all of their dirt pedals in the store to pick some. Ended up going with the FX59 Thrash Master and FX53 Classic Tube as high gain and low-mid gain. Oddly, when I did up my DOD boards last year the hierarchy of preferences remained pretty much the same as they were back then.

Got this as well. Pretty solid spring reverb sim.

Picked one of these up on Black Friday sale. Pretty decent sounding pedal.

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
Finally found one of these for a reasonable price. Pretty much a clean boost but will get dirtier if you dial the tone up, it will end up behaving like a rangemaster/treble booster for some extra dirt.

Great find ! One of my non-Boss favourites. Good pedal.

DOD brings back so many fine memories. They were a poor man's BOSS

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
So true. DOD had some great sounding pedals. The typical issue of a missing battery cover is sort of a design flaw.
However, like all things that were initially seen as the 'affordable option' of the time and then flew under the radar/dirt cheap for so long, the word is out now.
