Serial number CE2W
Hello all, I finally got a pretty good deal
On a CE-2 Waza. The bottom plate sticker serial is only a little bit there. I contacted Boss and they told me it dates to November 2018 but never answered in giving me all of the Alpha numeric serial number in their response.
Just curious, is there a way for US to date using the metal plate without having to contact Boss?

The first three digits/letters of the serial number are sufficient to use them with the serial number decoder that you can find here:
https://www.stompboxzone.com/decoder/boss_decoder.php
To me it looks like it is "A6J...." and that gives Nov 2018, just like BOSS told you already.

Hi Pepe, Thanks for your response.
I need to investigate better the ins and outs of their serial number system. Man that is cool you figured that out!
Ok so the 14435 on the metal plate I’m assuming on our end can’t really help us without calling Boss?

Also FYI I’d like to put a new sticker this pedal so I hope to hear back from Boss so I can have the pedal back to 100% so to speak with having the complete serial number back on it.

Re: Serial number CE2W
Just an update. The A6J that was deciphered off of the torn sticker was all that Boss was able to help with. So apparently the Metal label serial number is perhaps useless?
They were able to use it for what I wanted to use it for so evidently that serial number isn’t connected with the paper sticker serial number on the rubber footplate.

Re: Serial number CE2W
The number on the metal label seems to be the amount of built CE-2W up to this model. The label on the bottom is the production date and general serial number. At least this is how I think about the metal label.
Re: Serial number CE2W
Yeah, I have assumed the same (although it is only an assumption).
My CE-2w was apparently manufactured in August 2019 and the metal label is number 18334.
I wonder what number they're up to now?

Ohhhhhhhh Ok!
Makes sense now guys!
Well since this query ended pretty much a success I’ll start working on a sticker.
Probably going to do something a little special while keeping it traditional too. I’ll share what I come up with.
