Just looked up the USS-1 - very nice.

P.S I often follow these chaps on Instagram/web marvellous collections and sales. I hope to pop over to them in person during the summer.

Man that looks truly amazing! Also a positive note from my side: the lost Pearl PH-03 has returned to the sender at last, so I should have it somewhere this week. The Nu-Tron was sold before I could test it, but I hope this one will satisfy my phaser needs.

It's really quite unusual and I feel quite lucky to pick it up. I'm tentatively testing it out, but a little hesitant as it's a little valuable I guess!

My next move is to try it with bass :D

That's excellent news with the PH-03! I have one and I should really pull it out, I seem to neglect the Pearls. I have a "junk" and semi-fixed dual version (PH-44?), which is also brilliant but gets quite hot at the power input stage. Fantastic phasers all round. IF I was keen to collect the lot I'd need the dual Chorus (Odd they never made a smaller Chorus?), the Distortion DS-06 and the Parametric EQ, rare but I have passed on two before.

On the other hand, I just clicked BUY on the Pearl Octaver! The values are lower here in Japan but still a little rich for me and a chap from the band BOWY has sent the prices higher due to his usage of it. This was the last one I've seen on any auction or regular shop webpage so I thought best not to hang about!

The OC-07 is pretty much the only 3-octave clean pedal I've seen/heard, all my others have that fuzzy synth tone...nice but troublesome gain stacking/noisy. If the Pearl works out, it will replace an OC-2 on the current board I think :?:

Let us know how the PH-03 fairs, and some settings, I'm sure you'll love it :)

...and here it is!

Comes in a nice sort of sixties attache case too!
So according to the effectsdatabase this is the Maestro G-1 Rhythm 'N Sound For Guitar. It's a guitar synth that's supposed to mimick wind instruments, right? Looks great! 8-)

I think its listed as a "W2", http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/maestro/w2

"Sound System for Woodwind"

Almost the same, but the input has a push-pull sensitivity knob for switching between "Saxophone" and ...something else!, also a small phono input jack too  There's a very nice sixties style Tremolo circuit added with Speed and Depth knobs at the top (silver band) and the outputs are A and B, with the footswitch being a strange computer-like connection on the right side rather than the top.

I can't fathom a difference between W2 and W3.

It needs a hefty boost at the front to get it going though I am tempted now to experiment with the correct type of pickup and various instruments. Imagine a harmonica through it!

There was also the Maestro G-1 (http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/maestro/g1) and it looks almost the same at first glance.

Yes indeed, pretty much the same bar the Tremolo and input/outputs.

Great exotic beasts! :D

How is the tracking?

Very sharp (depending on the given boost). Better than an OC-2 I think and better than almost anything I have..? Need to compare more closely in detail when I get a moment.
