My parcel, despite coming from the USA, was mysteriously enough wrapped in a Japanese newspaper.
Which gives way to the first clue...

OK. So something that was originally shipped from Japan. Maybe something that fuzzbuzzfuzz sent in a previous tour?

Anyway, it's got some connection to Japan, 3 knobs and 2 jacks and was made in the 90's.

One more arrival - a few days after Christmas, but here it is

Hints:

• MIJ

• I've never seen one before, and didn't know the pedal (or the series) actually existed. That amazes me...

• I've owned at least a dozen pedals that produce this effect. The effect type is very common. This implementation is not.

• Large manufacturer, but not commonly associated with this type of effect.
