Has anyone with the early MIT BD-2W, SD-1W, or DM-2W that were made in Taiwan, inspected in Japan, ever opened up them up and checked if those are all through-hole or the mostly SMD they are doing now?

If no, is someone willing to do so and post some gut shots?

I had the chance to open up a couple of those a few years ago, but didn't.
