I think someone here thought this one could be next. I’m glad it is and I quite like the look of it.

Finally another really neat idea, BOSS! And it's the first new two-knobber since the CE-2, NF-1 and SG-1 in 1979!

Yes, quite surprised to have numerous YT-ers pop up last night with their videos with this little beauty. Oddly the thing that struck me (about the videos) is how difficult it is to demonstrate the subtleties of a boost as each demonstrators amp and guitar tone dominated to such a degree that knowing what the pedal could actually do was really tricky!

Anyway I digress. It looks very nice. Great simple layout, nice aesthetics/colour and taps neatly into the current clone market for overpriced retro boosts. The CE-1 notably being popular due to the John Frusciante effect and others from there, and the RE a Brian Setzer led tone-hunt.
Oddly enough I had just pulled out my similarly coloured Roger Mayer Concorde last night which is in a way a competitor - a crispy boost and character pedal that adds some presence and magic.

A welcome "curveball" release by BOSS and I'll happily pick one up later on the used market.

Oh interesting switch on the back for vintage vs modern buffer. I wonder why no TB? Unless I am reading that wrong and that is the former?

"Vintage Buffer
The BP-1W also features high-quality buffer circuitry with two selectable types available. Users can access it via the rear panel switch and it provides access to the pure signal of a standard buffer or a vintage buffer with lower input impedance.

Vintage has a warmer tone and a smooth dynamic response, which suits a guitar fitted with passive pickups. It really shines when a guitars is directly fed into the BP-1W’s input. Whereas, the standard buffer is always engaged for signal conditioning when the pedal is bypassed."

I pre-ordered one just before I posted this topic. Thoughts to follow when it arrives.

Nope, still waiting. Usual thing here - a big fanfare launch and then the wait. I still don’t understand why they don’t stock up the retailers ready for the launch.
