Scored this really nice condition '85 DS-1 with some MOSFET modification in the diode section and an alteration to the tone stack
It sounds really really good, much more amp-like, with the same DS-1 crunch and many more mids
notes from the guy who did this:
I know I used 2N7000s with a germanium diode (I think a Russian one) for the asymmetrical clipping, the rest is just mods to the tone control to make it more useful and the tonal range better (more mids basically but not completely flat)

Re: MOSFET DS-1
Nice.
The DS-1W is mosfet clipping as well. I wonder how those would compare to each other. I find the DS-1W feels/plays a lot more like a rat than any previous iteration of DS-1.

Never seen this mod before and it looks good. I bet it sounds good as well.

Re: MOSFET DS-1
I used the 2N7000 MOSFETs in my old Stormchaser mod for the MT-2. I still have a Stormchaser modded MT-2 kicking around somewhere - the 2N700's don't sound too bad.
