Boss CE-2

Post by sroberts5150 » Fri Oct 26, 2018 1:51 am

Hi all, new here, thanks for having me. I have an old CE-2 that needs new input/ output jacks. The old plastic encased ones are shot. Can anyone tell me what type for for both input/output? Thanks in advance!

E-mail Roland/Boss and ask them. They will most probably have them as spare parts.

Unfortunately there are no generic equivalent parts.

When I need replacement parts I order them at BanzaiMusic in Berlin. They have some similar looking jacks here: www.banzaimusic.com/Chassis-Mount/

Is there something that comes very close to the original BOSS jacks, Laurie?

In Canada, you can get them by simply e-mailing parts@roland.ca .

I've ordered a few parts (blank back plates to use velcro on, rubber grommets, etc.) and while shipping will be more expensive than the actual parts, they usually are pretty good at getting us the parts and always very collaborative.

There are some switchcraft generic jacks (11x series) but they aren't a perfect fit. I've used them in the past when I had no choice. There are some listed on the site you provided.

You will need a TRS jack for the input (a think it is a 112B) and a mono one (a 111) for the output.

I have a bunch of old Boss pedals that can use new input/output jacks. Some of them require the patch cable to be turned to a certain position in order to get the full signal without making scratchy noise. Some of them are very rusty and perhaps become somewhat conductive because of that. All of those pedals were bought used and most of them have had noise problems since I got them.

The Switchcraft TRS jacks (forgot which two models) I had tried did not work. I figure I would get a tally of how many jacks I would need from Roland/Boss and order them in one go, eventually. Right now, I think I need at least 10-12 jacks.

I should also check the jacks on the used Micro Rack units, too. Some of them were bought used and I remember some of the jacks were a bit iffy if touched.

I've seen Boss jacks on Ebay, and I'm pretty sure that Small Bear carries them.
