Single owner pedals
Re: Single owner pedals
Your answers make me feel young...
Being that I started playing bass in the 2001, I own a 2003 DD-3 that I still have. It is the only one I've never sold. I've owned a couple of ODB-3s (which was the first effect pedal I ever got), a few CEB-3 and GEB-7, but the DD-3 is the only one that's been the same since day 1.

Re: Single owner pedals
I bought my first pedal, a DS-1, on the 10th of January 1991 and still have it.
It cost £40.50 new.
Over the next 18 months I picked up (and still have):
CH-2 (I don't have the receipt for this one but am 95% sure it was my second pedal)
DD-3 (29th of January 1992 - £121.50)
HM-2 (this one was £46 but I can't make out whether it was bought on the 27th June 1991 or 1992 - I think it was 1992)
I then didn't buy another pedal until I picked up my AC-2 in May 1997.

Re: Single owner pedals
Insanely good memory? Was that day special (birthday)? Because that is very specific.
My first Boss pedal that I have still is my ODB-3. In winter 2001 it was on sale for $49 NEW and Guitar Center didn't want to match Musicians Friends price. But luckily they gave in. The switch still gives me trouble from time to time but it's fine. I use it as a clean boost when I need a ton of low end bass or guitar.

Re: Single owner pedals
My only single owner BOSS is the TU12H I got new in 1983/4. I also got a PSM5, SD1, DF2, CE3, BF2, DD2 and BCB60 that same day, but sold those all off, but still have a couple of the boxes left from them.
Re: Single owner pedals
True, I also have two TU-3's that I purchased new and haven't sold.
I also now have a VO-1 that I purchased new also at a MASSIVE discount on Black Friday.
The DD-3 is still the only one with any sentimental value though.

BOSS compact pedals have been around for about 42+ years now, they are very, very durable and sound great. Because of that, they were the gold standard of pedals in the 80s and 90s. Guys my age grew up on them and have found them to be great to this day. Back then, I also used MXR (which are also well made, but not as tonally flexible as BOSS) and EH (more wild sounding than BOSS, but more finicky and fragile). Never a big fan of DOD, though they made some good sounding pedals that were built well. It's quite remarkable that I have so many from the 80s that are 100% original and working perfectly. My DD2 can use a new switch, but that's it.
That's why there are so many BOSS still around and in use by us old farts. haha. Robert Smith and Prince use(d) them to this day.
