OD-1 Famous Users Thread
Whilst researching the OD-1 I came across this article about the late great Rory Gallagher, who in his latter days used a nice array of classic BOSS pedals. Here's a snippet of an interview with Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell discussing his choices:

and his equipment pedalwise here > https://rorygallagher.com/effects-pedals/
There's a picture there of an incredibly grime and filth encrusted BOSS board or Rory's with most of the aforementioned effects in, like his guitar there was green plant matter and goodness knows what all over it!
The sheer brightness and treble content of the OD-1 always put me off initially (as for years I was mostly hunting an always-on overdrive to use as an amp drive substitute). But in context, and pedal tech/history lineage terms, it's introduction was very much as a replacement to the equally punchy bright treble boosters of that era, as was the case with Rory (Rangemaster, later a Hawk EQ/booster). Of course it could also do a nice tube-alike overdrive by itself.
Additionally here is Pete Townsend of the Who's simple setup of more recent years featuring the OD-1 alongside a compressor, and most recently a delay, all encased in a nifty Pete Cornish board.

I love this stuff!

I think Jeff Beck used to use an OD-1 back in the late 70s/ early 80s. I read that he painted it black!

Scrolling down here there is a nice snippet on Johnny Marr's mid 80s BCB-6, used with The Smiths live, and indeed details of his other BOSS pedals from that era.

Re: OD-1 Famous Users Thread
I read Richie Sambora used one in front of a Marshall in the early Bon Jovi days.

The OD1/SD1 user list can be virtually a mile long!
No better pedal to goose a Marshall, IMNSHO. Plus, I like how they sound better than the TS9 when as a stand alone drive.
As far as fame, being relative, I am the most famous person in my house that uses the OD1 (4558 version)! haha
