Bummer! You tried it with an AC/AC adaptor?laurie wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:37 pmWhen I found the time actually hook it up and test the audio, regrefully it did not work. No idea why - it simply doesn't pass signal in effect or bypass mode.
The seller was very helpful and immediately gave a full refund. I still have the unit and will take a look at it when time permits, but I'm not hopeful.

The "1st reissue" is going for 30,000yen here, 6 figure serial as opposed to 7 on the newer "CE" marked units.zentropa wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 8:08 pmThe TS9 reissue came out in 1992-93 or so. Earliest ones have bottom labels/serials that also coincide with some of the 83-84s, so on these ones you have to look at the op amp/caps to tell if it is an original or reissue.
Mid-late 90s TS9 reissues have the CE logo on the bottom label. The earlier reissues have a MAXON tooling on the inside of the battery cover.
These were pretty much the only reissues in that timeframe before they brought out the AD9, CS9, and FL9 reissues in the late 90s. In 2002 things switched to having Ibanez make them, so the battery cover tooling has an Ibanez logo and at some point the bottom labels also had an Ibanez logo.
They didn't bring the TS808 reissues back until someone started manufacturing the switches again. I don't remember exactly when that happened.

That's a lot. I actually have one of those I have been trying to sell locally and have had zero interest in it at $100 (~14,300 yen)fuzzbuzzfuzz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 7:38 amThe "1st reissue" is going for 30,000yen here, 6 figure serial as opposed to 7 on the newer "CE" marked units.

So this story isn't over...laurie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 5:05 pmWith thanks to pepe who found this one advertised in Canada for cheap ... arrived yesterday.
Supposed to come with a 9VAC power supply. The seller did advise it was the wrong supply, but I didn't know how wrong. It is a 5VDC supply, and the unit still boots up! Great engineering on the part of Alesis.

After scouring the thrift stores for a month, I finally found a wall-wart with a name-plate rating of 9VAC at 500mA. It had a busted output lead, so I had to crack it open and replace the lead (then super glue the case back together), but once I did that it was measuring 11VAC unloaded.
The other power supply I tried was slightly higher than that ... about 13VAC unloaded.
Wonder of wonders - its alive! The lights light up just like they always did, but the unit now passes signal and the effects work.
When I bought it, the power supply that came with it was name-plate rated at 5VDC. All the lights worked, but no sound. I have no (zero) idea how the seller could have been using it on the supply. The speed that I received an apology and refund may indicate that all they ever did was test if the lights came on, and they never actually tried it.
Bottom line - the unit appears to work. It seems to be VERY particular about power supply voltage. I have it sitting on the bench soaking and will test it again tomorrow after being powered for 24 hours.

The Ineko has now been running for 4 hours with no issues. The input level trim pot needed cleaning, but otherwise it works perfectly.
Probably won't keep it, but it has very high quality processing for what it is, and for 20+ years ago. Alesis has always been good stuff.
