Garage sale find ... 100% original 1979 Fender Twin
Found one of these today. Silverface, master volume. Been sitting in a basement for probably 20 years.
Original tubes! Original caps. Original everything.
Will need recap, new tubes, and likely a bunch of other minor repairs. But I have a winter project now

Wow! The vintage Fender Twin Reverb is one of the coolest amps that I have ever played. Great find!

Re: Garage sale find ... 100% original 1979 Fender Twin
About 12 years ago I found one of these (a 1977) that had been rehoused with a single 15 inch speaker. I had a new cabinet made for it and did all the maintenance... I had a thread on one of the old forums (pics below). Pics of the new one will follow as I do the maintenance on it.
About 8 years ago I sold the 1977 and have regretted it ever since. To find this 1979 in original condition is a bit of a holy grail for me.
This is the 1977 that I sold in 2014: . .
Tag-strip / point-to-point goodness:

Yes, I remember that one now. Good luck with your "new" Twin. I am very interested in seeing the dirty pics as well.

Great find Laurie ! I’m sure that you will enjoy working on that one.
I have an mostly original (a valve mounting repaired and new valves), Fender Pro Reverb from 1978. I had it serviced a few years back and everything was still on the numbers. Sounds wonderful. It has the tilt back bar things and castors to wheel it around.
I remember buying it new from a shop in Croydon (South London) and me and my mates manhandling it into a very small car It’s a heavy beast but I think the Twin is even heavier.

Wow! Score!
I had a 79 Vibrolux (bought new in June of 81) that I regret trading off. Can't go wrong with a Twin!
