New amp day
Picked up this one. It is a baby, but it's not bad. It is the vintage version with battery power (takes "D" cells in a compartment in the back), or uses a 12VDC adapter.
Needed some work...
- Batteries had leaked. Battery compartment needed a complete clean-out and treatment with alkaline. No real damage. Just one of the screws discoloured.
- 12VDC power connector had disintegrated. Replaced.
- Pots scratchy to the point of unusability. Cleaned and lubricated.
- Cabinet was filthy. Cleaned and conditioned the Tolex. Cleaned everything else. Came up perfectly - not a blemish on it.
Total cost (CAD$):
- $20 for the amp
- $5 for parts
- $4 for a 12VDC power adapter from the thrift store.

Nice catch Laurie.
Man I'm going to move to Canada, you guys are so lucky to have gears for a very good price, down here everything is so expensive.
Starting to practice: O Canada, Our home and native land!...

Re: New amp day
We have a thrift store about 2km from us. That's where most of the cheap gear comes from.
The "catchment" for donations for that store must be just right - I've never seen this kind of gear anywhere else.

Re: New amp day
I sold my red knob Champ 12 and got this (Pro Junior). It has a 10" Jensen speaker - nice and tight (not flobby in the bass). Jeff Beck uses two of these as his stage rig,
apparentlyJerem, Jeremy on BAF and SBZ

Nice score Pepe ! Congratulations
I have a Blues Junior in Tweed with the Jenson but I just can’t get on with it unless I crank it to max.
