My apologies for leaning in to this... but it looks like one of these might fit?

I've used them both in vintage Japanese pedals, and don't recall ever needing to drill out the hole.

Whether by manufacturing or type those jacks simply break/fracture/disintegrate (those in Japanese pedals). Usually the tip. Metal > plastic. Hence the need to replace. In the lower picture the greenish looking metal part, the plastic is missing, that's the part that has fractured and fallen to bits.
Okay, I already wondered why the switch looked so strange. Then it's indeed necessary to replace it. Good luck!

Crybaby in unknown condition. Clearly dodgy. Not sure if it works, but all the pieces are there. USD$8.60

Well, it does work.

Why was it painted "even more black"? At some point in the past someone had painted it white. With a brush. With house paint.

Then someone later sprayed it back to black.

I'm sanding all that crap off and removing the paint from the rubber treadle and will spray it with a good coat of black - likely "truck bed liner". Very tough, with a little texture, just like the original finish.

The dodgy crybaby pedal is missing the battery compartment, all the rubber feet, and one of the base screws. Additionally, the base (which was turned inside-out for velcro) is badly bent.

I went online searching for a new battery compartment ... and astonishingly on Amazon there was a kit with the base, battery compartment, feet and screws. All for USD$20. No-brainer.

Crybaby base and treadle cleaned up, and refinished with "underbody sealer". Textured finish and super tough.

Wow! Have you removed the rubber top before repainting it? It looks so clean and the rubber is not deformed in any way.

I cleaned the rubber with a wire brush, then masked it with tape before painting the metal.

I'm about to do Stinkfoot's true-bypass mod before putting it back together.

I also bought some silicone lube to re-lube the mechanical parts as I reassemble it.
