I own several, and have owned probably a dozen over the years. The Fleetwood is as good as most and better than some.
That's great to hear! I also think that the guitar deserved me spending money on it and wasting so much time on the restoration.

I'm sure the body is made of alder, if it were made of basswood, it wouldn't resonate like a real Fender. I had previously a JET JT-300 Telecaster copy, which was fabolous, but never resonated like the real thing. However, maybe the neck was slightly better, than in the Fleetwood. The JET body was made of basswood. I sold that guitar. I like Tele Sound, but the Strat is more comfortable, and sometimes I need the tremolo.

So, according to your (and my) experience, the guitar easily reaches the level of a MIM Fender.
