that is interesting, I'll keep an ear out for it next time I hear david gilmour. Ive actually installed the gilmour EMG set on two guitars it has a unique pronounced pick noise

It really is about finding where you can sneak the guitar in.
Saw a similar thing with an Alex Lifeson interview. He was mentioning what he had to do during the synth heavy 80s albums (Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire): play single coils. They were less robust, more cutting, which was perfect for being heard in the more dense, synth heavy mix.

Yea its funny , 3.2k slider always been there its doing the same thing its always done but i will never look at it the same way. It just adds so much definition to your tone. I think I was kinda getting a frequency boost like this with the fuzz face clean up trick (which I also only discovered when I received my dingotone GHF from a CPEWT)
