Re: NPD Black Label MIT DS-1
I don't recall exactly, thought I had a pic of the serial number, but I don't. It was early, like '88 or '89, as my friend bought it new when in high school, and he graduated in 89.

Re: OD-1 Famous Users Thread
The OD1/SD1 user list can be virtually a mile long!
No better pedal to goose a Marshall, IMNSHO. Plus, I like how they sound better than the TS9 when as a stand alone drive.
As far as fame, being relative, I am the most famous person in my house that uses the OD1 (4558 version)! haha

I bought my VB2 about 2 years ago for $250. Thought I was paying a little much for it, but the hype caught up.

Re: NPD Black Label MIT DS-1
I had one of those and a MIJ version. To be honest, I couldn't hear any difference at all. I gave the MIT back to my friend when he mentioned that he wanted to get a DS1. He gave me the MIT pedal a long time ago, it had no foot plate, so I found one for a NF1 (in Vintage Guitar Magazine, pre interne...

Re: The Unobtainable Ones
If (and it really is an "if") they have automated testing of the gains - ie. feed 10,000 devices into a machine that automatically sorts them... I'd say cost would be in the $10 to $20 per device. Less if the manufacturing tolerances are good and the gain yield is high. Sorting by hand... with low ...

Re: boss sd-1 (keeley) as dual version?
https://www.gfisystem.com/jonassus-drive It's not BOSS, but this pedal can do exactly what you want. I only know this because I won one of these in a Premier Guitar giveaway and have become quite familiar with it. You can configure the pedal with both sides set up diode/asymmetric/low gain and it b...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
Recently got a Wampler Plexi Drive Mini. I buddy of mine loves his Plexi Drive, even through BF/SF Fenders, which tend to really polarize many drives and dirts. I don't have a proper Marshall In A Box, so I picked this one up. It's great! Sounds really good with my modified Bassman Ten, which was wh...

Re: A possible long-dash OD-1 build
My OD1 is a 4558 version.
I have heard such good things about the 3403 that I'd be interested in one. Seemingly, it's pretty touch responsive, more amp like..?

A Waza GE or PQ would make a lot of sense.

Re: New BOSS pedals!
Well, I found a pedal I wasn't really looking for... Saw a CE5 at Guitar Center, paint looked kind of old, like perhaps 20th century. The label and rubber skid were removed and replaced with velcro, so I asked if I could open it up and take a look... Yep, MN3007 and MN3101 chips. I then made sure ev...
