Re: One for the trivia/minutae experts

I think that they simply reactivated the production of the black and red VB-2 knobs for the VB-2W. The knobs have also been used in some of the BOSS synthesizers and mixing consoles back in the '80s, so they were already available as a solution when they needed smaller knobs for the first four-knobb...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

I haven't heard from them for more than a year ago. And they won't add new pedals to the Skyline series anymore, which I find a bit sad. The cool thing is that the series covers almost everything that a musician asks for. Oh, and I will possibly do the family snapshot in the next days, Laurie. The l...

Re: OD-2 vs SD-2

Naked around $60-ish. With box and manual around $75, I think. At least that's the average price in Europe. This is what reverb says: https://reverb.com/price-guide/guide/16 ... rive-1990s

Re: OD-2 vs SD-2

We told you that you would like the SD-2. I'm a die-hard OD-2R fan, so I'm pleased to see you go that route as well. 8-)

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

My 16th Hotone Skyline pedal arrived today: the "Golden Touch". It is said to be a TS-808 type overdrive. Normally I'm not a Tubescreamer guy, but this one sounds really nice. It was brand new and sealed. I bought it at eBay from a British shop that has still two of them. I don't know how a TS-808 d...

Re: OD-2 vs SD-2

Then the price is absolutely justified. I received my very clean looking SD-2 from Dirk in one of our pedal tours.

Re: New BOSS pedals!

Excellent choice of pedals, BearBoy! I said it several times in the StompBoxZone forum: the HM-3 is a killer pedal for downtuned shredding. I don't play that normally, but the HM-3 is the only pedal that I have had that creates pleasing sounds this way. Otherwise it has a great lead sound with Low a...

Re: OD-2 vs SD-2

While rescueing some threads of the StompBoxZone forum I stumbled over this post: Does anybody know what the 'lead' mode circuit is based on? Marshall Govn'or ? It's a custom Boss design. The input resembles a bit the the boss MT-2 (gyrator booster at 952 Hz followed by two stages of opamp amplifier...

Here is a link to Laurie's pdf-file of his MT-2 modification plus links to the three sound examples that are still on the DingoTone website.
