Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals
After seeing a PL5 Powerlead for 15 EUR in a second hand shop after purchasing the TS5 I thought that the 14 EUR for the Tubescreamer might have been an average price. They also have a Thrashmetal for 49 EUR. I suppose it is from the first series with a metal chassis. Is the Powerlead useful? Shoul...

Re: Cable Capacitance
A great overview, thanks! Cables and connectors also have other properties to aware of. Capacitance (in "Farads") is part of the bigger picture of LCR: L=inductance, in "Henrys" C=capacitance in "Farads" R=resistance in "Ohms" I knew more went into it than just capacitance, but capacitance is the a...

Cable Capacitance
Last week I found myself trying to disprove a friend of mine that believes that more expensive guitar cables are always better, making this the 4th conversation with local people I know in the past couple of months. I'm pretty sure these are the types of people that would buy $100 monster HDMI cable...

That's cool.
I hadn't actually tried it but I knew the case dimensions were similar. I know that smallbear used to sell just the bottoms for those cases for people to put on their boss pedals if they are using velcro to mount them, but it seems they no longer market those that way.

Re: Pedal Board Projects
Very cool! Eclipse music looks like a great shop! My sister lives in Apple Valley, I will have to visit that store when I visit her. There are two other shops around that stock loads of pedals, boutique and otherwise. The other two are Twin Town and El Diablo. Eclipse just has the most of them.

Re: BCB-6G?
Nice score.
The 6Gs are definitely much harder to come by although i have seen more of them in the past 5 years than the previous 20 combined.

Re: Boss Drum Machine Woes
Well, my guess wasn't right then.
I have had troubles with the DR-550 and similar era machines like the Alesis SR-16 developing weird issues if the jog wheel pot starts getting corroded. My last SR-16 had some stuff where it started acting up more on one of the stereo outputs more than the other.

Does it crackle when you turn the jog wheel on the DR-550?

Re: Pedal Board Projects
10 months after I requested a local builder to make it, he finally finished my quad op amp OD-1 clone, so the board should be in its final form now. Ended up having to shuffle things around, but now it's 1960s-70s on the bottom row and 1980s-2000s on top, in chronological order.

Re: Boss/Roland Catalogue Museum
These are cool. My teenage self loved guitar gear catalogs. I remember each year guitar magazines would have buyer's guides with all of the products each major brand was offering and I would memorize the product specs on everything.
