Consider that having the threshold on an internal trim will only work if you only ever use a single instrument. If you have a 2nd guitar that's louder for example, you'd want to adjust the threshold.

I'd say try the TC electronic Hypergravity and tweak to your liking using their Toneprint editor software. I went to a jam seession a few months back - a small bar, tiny stage. A Reggae hippie chap turned up with a pallet, and actual massive unapinted wooden pallet for forklifts, with at least 4 rows of pedals. It took up more than half the stage!
