Re: Strymon Blue Sky - very early version mechanical repair

Wow excellent in death rebuild thread there Laurie, great job. 👏 Yes absolute pet hate (amongst many others), pots and switches directly connected to a pcb board and receiving weight :o This also extends to the power jacks as they get constant abuse with unplugging/plugging in (especially if there’s...

Re: XPEWT6 - Christmas Pedal Exchange World Tour 6

Sorry, I was talking to myself for a while so checked out a bit. Well MY gift does indeed: Replicate an expensive effect that’s difficult to carry around It’s green with white and black knobs It’s in a small MXR size box (or a tad shallower) And it’s made in the USA By a well known Modder! Tha...

Re: XPEWT6 - Christmas Pedal Exchange World Tour 6

I used it last night for a an old 60s song and I was surprised sounded great, an effect of which I usually prefer analog units but this one is digital….

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Yes, I'm really happy with it, especially at that price. :D Another bargain made it to me in the last weeks. An Ibanez Soundtank TS5 Tubescreamer for 14 EUR including shipping. I had to order a new switch (under 2 EUR), because it was faulty. Back to full life again! When I tested it against my bro...

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Here are finally a few pictures of the MXR distortion +. The potentiometers are from Dec '79 and Jan '80, so I think it's been made in 1980. The original blue tantals were replaced by new ones. I used thin foam rubber to isolate the electronic parts and a thick layer of soft foam for the place wher...

Re: Best tuner for intonation?

Sorted... I downloaded the free Boss TU-3 app. It seems to be accurate enough, at least to my ear - I just did the intonation of the Samick guitar I mentioned in another thread. The pedal is 1 cent precision. The Boss site doesn't quote an accuracy for the software version, but it feels like it sho...
