Re: Boss IR-2 with footswitch
Thanks for this info, I grabbed the IR-2 yesterday and was really confused about why I had to double tap in order to change channels on it! It's wild that an external foot switch used to switch channels has to be set to momentary, but I can confirm that's how it is. I have a Helix Effects that I've...

Katana V3 coming out soon.
3rd Gen Katanas are being released soon. Not sure of what will change, but it's surely a better processor, better functionality, etc... as most technological things go...
Re: New Toys
Great amps! They did a great job with these. My longtime friend and bandmate loves his 1987X on a 1960A Greenback cab. He also has the SV20 combo, as it's more practical for mic’ed up gigs. The half stack is the go to for practice. :D I love the SC20. I'd get one, but my DSL50 head is scratching tha...

Re: New BOSS pedals!
Found this super clean Jan 96 pink label CH1 for $50. The fact that I don't have one (certainly didn't need one!), it's clean, cheap and analog made it come home with me. I'm a sucker for a great Boss deal. https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-0bRNyLnJL0pZOju37gIGvAJPjGm5zan3rARPapS3bn2irUvKDUWYz...

Re: New amp day! Mesa Heartbreaker.
Yeah, you don't see many of these out there. I like them better than Twins, as they can get dirty, channel switch, voicing options... ...but don't you have a Twin? Either way, I love Mesas. FWIW, my "Twin" is a 1980 100W Mesa MKIIA 1x12" combo with an EVM12L. It was a UPS damage rescue. My intention...

Re: New Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet
The BCB30 headphone/direct amp! Only way to make this more convenient is to mount it up. Put an '88 long chip DD3 in the IR2 loop, but this might get swapped for a GE7, as either pedal is quite useful. Also, a TU3W (with buffer bypassed-a cool feature) in there, too, because you always need a tuner....

Re: New Boss Katana-500 Bass Head + Katana Cabinet 112
The bassist in me also likes the Katana format. Lots of features and tweaks available on the panel, but a deep dive into the Tone Studio editor really brings out the details. I tend to play simple heads and use one of my three bass boards for the needed effects and processing. If an amp is not neede...

Re: New Boss Katana-500 Bass Head + Katana Cabinet 112
The Katana guitar amps are great. I like how they are pretty straight forward, but you can deep dive when using Tone Studio. I totally understand how gigging players like to use them. You can set it up to be pretty similar to your favorite type of amp and then get the benefit of plug and play as wel...

Re: New Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet
Got it, after 3 1/2 months wait. Well worth it! Does everything I expected and needed. Used it with some Sony MDR7506 headphones and went through the various amp/tone platforms. Interestingly, I found two of the Boss MDP models the most to my liking: Clean and Modded. Clean was big and full. It also...
