Re: New Boss NS-1X Noise Suppressor
I have exactly one of these That's exactly one more than I have  I do have a DA-2 though, which I think was something of a precursor of the DS-1X/OD-1X? I have the DA-2 also. It's my go-to dirt at guitar. It is a precursor to the X pedals, as were MO-2 and TE-2. I have the BB-1X. It is a MONST...

Re: New BOSS pedals!
I paid mine about 40$ CAD back when I had one. My brother still has one he paid 50$ CAD for. He's a drummer, but when he fiddles on guitar that's his only dirt pedal and it works fine.
Now, I can barely get one for 80$ on classifieds and it's beaten to the core.

Re: New BOSS pedals!
Nice haul, Pepe. I keep meaning to pick up an OS-2. What do you think of it? On a 3-pedal board (like a BCB-3), that would be my dirt because it's kind of a "jack-of-all-trades". I remember there being a topic on "build your 3-pedal board" but I don't remember if it was here or on Stompbox Zone. It...

Re: Faulty practice amp
Agreed 100%. Annoys me as well. What reassures me that it might be that marette that I replaced is that : - The noise went away when I fiddled with wiring. a component failing would have not showed that behaviour. - It was pretty easy to disconnect the first time, implying there was some slack there...

Re: Faulty practice amp
OK. So... I've disconnected the amp for a few days. Plugged it back in: The noise was gone. Figured it had to be a capacitor. left it plugged for a few days. Still no noise. Placed the amp back where it should be (but with no screws). Still no noise. Screwed everything back together. Still no noise....

Re: Faulty practice amp
Yeah... I'm pissed. The noise is back. Tried the following: - The black wire on the power cord is connected to the transformer via some kind of crimped marette. - Disconnected it (it seemed a bit loose). Reconnected with a standard marette I had laying around. Noise is gone! - Test it with the guita...

Re: Faulty practice amp
Very nice! Another piece of gear saved! I feared it did not work as when I plugged the bass in there, no sound was coming out of it. Noise was gone, but I feared ALL SOUNDS were gone. I checked the wires again, fiddled with them again.... ... ... ... ... And then I turned the volume up on the bass ...
