Re: New Toys

I think the Peavey stuff had its demand spike from several different sources. Nostalgia/midlife crisis, copycatting famous bands/recordings that were discovered to have used Peavey (mostly solid state) amps, and the JCM800 price inflation. Over the years I had always sort of kept tabs on a lot of th...

Re: New Toys

Yeah, 2204 pricing went through the roof! Understandably so. Such a great amp! After having and letting a couple really bad ass Marshalls go in the late 90s (83 2203 and 69 1959T), I did find a cool substitute: the DSL50. Green Crunch mode gives me 85-90% of what a JCM800 2204 provides. Best part i...

Re: New Toys

Thanks. I managed to get both of them for the low end of going rate. I had a Marshall Origin 20 that I was using for Plexi type tones but I have 2 8-ohm 1x12 speaker cabs and the Origin 20 doesn't have 4-ohm outputs so I decided to get an SV20 instead. I have a JCM800 2205, but had been wanting a 22...

Re: New Boss Katana-500 Bass Head + Katana Cabinet 112

The Katana guitar amps are a really good value. I picked up a Katana 50 a while ago for $50 at a pawn shop to mess around with before I resold it. It did a lot of sounds, had power rated in tube watts, could be run at 50/25/0.5 watts, was compact and lightweight with a lot of features, decent soundi...

Not sure why people would wanna buy an amp from a pedal manufacturer though?
Pretty much every local shop I know, the Katana has been their best selling guitar amp for the past 5 years by a pretty wide margin. I don't think the Bass line has had nearly as much success though.

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Nice! Congratulations for finding such a clean AF9! The options look very similar to these of my two beloved KORG Dist Wah modules KDW-301. And the Meat Box does always look so crazy and cool at the same time. Thanks. The AF9 had the box and was one of the cheaper ones I had come across that ...

Picked up another Behringer PB1000 board to fill and whittling down the wish list for the rest of my collection.

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Finished up my DOD collection (aside from 1 more PRC-6 board) and slowly whittling away at my Ibanez 9 Series. Replaced my AD9 reissue with a vintage one and grabbed this AF9 recently.

Re: New Non-BOSS Pedals

Today I received a Japanese Vesta Fire DST Distortion pedal that I purchased for a fair price at ebay. I had no big expectations, but man! This is one of the few pedals that make my guitar sing ! If there were no signal bleed in bypass mode with gain above 02:00 it would be an almost perfect pedal....
